Jeremy's Story

"My advice to anyone looking at a career in golf is to not be afraid to look outside your comfort zone. The golf industry is so diverse and there are so many other great opportunities in addition to being a golf professional or working at a golf store.”

Jeremy Lupinek, from golf course to industry company

“I knew I wanted to work in golf from a young age. I enjoyed the competitiveness of the sport, but I also loved the industry as much as the game. That led me to the New Mexico State University PGA Golf Management Program. From there, I became an assistant golf professional, head golf professional and director of golf. I enjoyed each and every day of it and didn’t see myself doing anything else.

A trip to PING’s fitting program changed everything. I saw a different side of the industry and a career opportunity I didn’t even think of when I was getting into golf. Leaving my comfortable position at my club for the unknown at PING was a leap of faith for me and my family, but in the end it allowed me to do something different while remaining in golf and staying connected to all the great people in the sport, from the PGA professionals to club members to customers in off-course stores.

My advice to anyone looking at a career in golf is to not be afraid to look outside your comfort zone. The golf industry is so diverse and there are so many other great opportunities in addition to being a golf professional or working at a golf store.”
